CE AND EU URGED OSCE MINSK GROUP TO BOLDER STEPS FOR KARABAKH CONFLICT SETTLEMENT
Yesterday Belgian Foreign Minister Anemi Neyts-Uyterebroek, member of the European Commission Chris Patten, Chairman of Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, Foreign Minister of Lithuania A.Valionis and CE Secretary General Walter Schwimmer adopted a joint communiqué concerning the Karabakh conflict settlement. "The Council of Europe and the European Union call OSCE Minsk Co-Chairmen to undertake bolder steps to create conditions for achieving a solution of the Nagorno Karabakh problem," - the document says. The Council of Europe and the European Union participating in the quadripartite meeting stated they were interested in establishing stability in the Southern Caucasus region and intended to continue cooperation with OSCE and other international organizations to realize that goal.
