RA President: Baku’s attempts at imparting religious character to Karabakh issue are unacceptable

PanARMENIAN.Net - Newly appointed Qatar Ambassador to Armenia Ibrahim Abdul Rahman Al-Meghaiseeb (residence in Tehran) submitted his credentials to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.

During the meeting, the Armenian leader emphasized the importance of collaboration with Arab states. The President expressed hope for Ambassador’s recent appointment and intergovernmental committee formation to signal intensification of bilateral cooperation.

The Ambassador, in turn, stressed his country’s willingness to invest in Armenian economy.

In a discussion on Karabakh problem, President Sargsyan stated that Baku’s attempts at imparting religious character to Karabakh issue are unacceptable. Abdul Rahman Al-Meghaiseeb stressed Qatar’s support for peaceful settlement of Karabakh conflict, believing it has no pertaining on religious matters.
