Serzh Sargsyan: our kids continue living surrounded by dividing lines and minefields![]() June 21, 2010 - 13:04 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said that despite the ceasefire, which was established due to the Karabakh people's heroic struggle, Armenia is still illegally blockaded by Azerbaijan and Turkey. “Nevertheless, the country has managed to stabilize its economy and secure economic growth, due to the Armenian people's diligence and support of allies,” President Sargsyan said during a reception dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the establishment of the Armenian community of St. Petersburg. "However, the blockade is continuing, and in the 21st century our kids are growing up surrounded by dividing lines and minefields," he said. Referring to the Diaspora, Mr. Sargsyan said its formation was a result of its tragic history of the Armenian nation. “Armenian people remember and are proud of their history,” he concluded, the presidential press service reported.
