Stepan Grigoryan: Russia has to reckon with CSTO members in some issues![]() August 18, 2010 - 16:03 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Despite being a powerful and independent country, Russia has to reckon with CSTO members in some issues, political expert Stepan Grigoryan stated. “During the oncoming CSTO summit in Yerevan, Armenia has to raise the issue of Russia’s intention to supply S-300 missile systems to Azerbaijan, asking whether it does not run counter to our cooperation in the frameworks of CSTO,” the export told a news conference in Yerevan. “If the information on S-300 supply is true, only the use and maintenance of missile systems themselves are likely to increase Azeri soldier’s qualification level.” As the expert noted, Armenia must not limit itself to collaboration with Russia. “If regional balance is being disturbed, Armenia might as well accept Iran’s or EU offers on Karabakh issue.” ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult.
