The 500-member group aims at promotion of Armenia-Turkey rapprochement. “I have made two visits to Yerevan this year and met with number of civil society representatives, politicians, and media people. After those visits we decided to establish a friendship group between the people of Armenia and Turkey, especially among the youth,” the head of the party’s PR department, Baybars Orsek told PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. “In that sense we organized a workshop in Istanbul on June 2010 and now we will be making the second workshop in Yerevan among the young political party members of both countries. In order to bring people together who are into the better relations and opening of the border between Armenia and Turkey we started a Facebook page on http://www.facebook.com/opentheborder,” he said.
