Progress in Karabakh issue will positively influence Russia-Georgia relations

PanARMENIAN.Net - The head of the Georgian institute of Russian research, former Georgian ambassador to Russia Zurab Abashidze has commented on possible influence of Karabakh conflict on Russia-Georgia relations.

“Karabakh conflict settlement concerns me like all others. Naturally, the resolution of the conflict or serious progress in this issue will cause positive achievements in Russia-Georgia relations. On the other hand, if things go wrong, this will influence all other regions; therefore, I read the news from Azerbaijan and Armenia with great concern”.

“Sometimes I hear reports that the possibility for resumption of military actions is rising. Tensions on the border, fire exchanges and the very state of unsettledness do not remove such a possibility. This concerns me, being fraught with gravest repercussions for the whole region,” news.az cited Abashidze as saying.
