VARIOUS POLITICAL FORCES NOTE RANGE OF VIOLATIONS OF ELECTORAL CODE DURING CURRENT PARLIAMENTARY ELECTION IN ARMENIA

PanARMENIAN.Net - A number of violations of the electoral legislation in the course of the parliamentary election and referendum on constitutional reform held in Armenia today are noted by various political forces participating in the parliamentary race. Specifically, as reported by "Arminfo" agency, chairman of Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Aghvan Vardanian reported proxies of an ARF Dashnaktsutyun candidate were impeded at polling station 22. A case of servicemen filling in ballots with ink other than that available inside the polling booth was registered at station 33 situated in Chambarak village of Tavush region. ARF Dashnaktsutyun members managed to find out that the servicemen had voted in favor of the Republican Party of Armenia. A fact of open voting was registered in Vardenis city. The party headquarters also received a signal from Ararat region that Henrik Abrahamian, brother of minister for regional government and coordination of infrastructure operation Hovik Abrahamian, hampered the voting process, threatening the electoral commission members and proxies at polling place 22. Information on all facts registered is submitted to the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia, Vardanian noted. Almost 50 transgressions of the electoral legislation were registered by "Justice" opposition bloc electoral staff by 2:00 p.m. The most flagrant is unconcealed bribery of electors. Specifically, head of the electoral commission at station N0296 situated in the territory of the 13-th election district for some reason took ballots home instead of putting them into the safe, which is violation of the law.
