Audronius Azubalis: Co-Chairs of Minsk Group should speed up negotiations on Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - Audronius Azubalis, Foreign Minister of Lithuania, which will hold the 2011 OSCE Chairmanship, said that in the case of Nagorno Karabakh, they see a lot of red lights flashing and the situation is worrying for several reasons.

The Co-Chairs of the Minsk Group should speed up the engine of negotiations that is driving a negotiated political settlement, Azubalis said in an interview with the OSCE magazine.

He also outlined his country’s stance on protracted conflicts during the OSCE Chairmanship and said that every Chairperson-in-Office wants to advance a solution to the so-called protracted conflicts, APA reported.

“It is also expected that the Chairperson-in-Office will act quickly, consult key actors and mobilize political, financial and other available tools to address conflict situations. I would like to see a more active OSCE role in the South Caucasus,” said Azubalis.
