Protest action held in Yerevan concerning opening of foreign language schools

PanARMENIAN.Net - On December 28, a protest action was held near the RA presidential residence with respect to opening of foreign language schools in the county.

Representatives of intelligentsia and public organizations, as well as individuals participated in the event.

Participants of the action passed a request signed by hundreds of people to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, urging him not to sign the RA bill on introduction of amendments to the Laws on Language and Secondary Education. The bill was approved by the RA NA on December 22.

During the past eight months, people voiced their disagreement with respect to the governmental program on opening of foreign language schools.
