MESSAGE OF NKR FM IS SPREAD AS OFFICIAL DOCUMENT OF 56TH SESSION OF UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY

PanARMENIAN.Net - YEREVAN, May 17. /Mediamax/. The message of the Foreign Minister of Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR) Naira Melkumian and the Memorandum of NKR Foreign Ministry have been spread in the United Nations Organization as official documents of the 56th session of the General Assembly.

As Mediamax was told today in NKR representation in the USA, these documents were forwarded to UN Secretary General in connection with the recent spread in UN of the text of the speech of Azeri President at the talks on Karabakh conflict settlement in Key West, in which the Azeri version of the history and pre-history of the Karabakh conflict was presented.

The message of NKR Foreign Minister specifically expresses regret that the Azerbaijani side is becoming more active in launching a propaganda campaign, provoking Nagorno Karabakh to futile controversy about the problems of the past. According to Naira Melkumian, the speech of the President of Azerbaijan in Key West confirmed the official policy of the Azeri authorities, which was formed by him in early 1999, directed to the falsification of the history, which cannot but cause misgivings of Karabakh.

"In order to prevent further one-sided interpretation of events of the past, fraught with negative consequences for the future of the South Caucasus, and to make an objective historical base for the search for conflict settlement, we think it necessary to present a memorandum, in which the incontestable scientific facts on the history of the region and their Azerbaijani interpretation are stated," reads the message of the Foreign Minister of NKR. --0--
