THE RESOLUTION OF THE KARABAKH DISPUTE IS NOT FAR AWAY, PRESIDENT OF ARMENIA SAID IN NY

PanARMENIAN.Net - YEREVAN, May 10. /Mediamax/. "Armenia is committed to securing stability and peace in the region of South Caucasus," Armenian President Robert Kocharian said, speaking today at "Armenia Investor Conference 2001" business forum, which began Thursday in New York Plaza Hotel.

"The region has inherited a complex cobweb of unresolved disputes from the past. However, the prevailing priority of the development of the countries of the region has been encouraging us to search for lasting solutions to the existing problems," Robert Kocharian said.

As the special correspondent of Mediamax reports from New York, Armenian President stressed that the efforts of the OSCE and the mediation of three major countries, the US, France and Russia, "have substantially narrowed the gaps in the Karabakh peace process".

"Our recent meetings in Key West give us reasons to believe that the resolution to the conflict is not far away," President Kocharian said. --0--
