WE ARE NOT INDIFFERENT TO THE FATE OF ARMENIANS RESIDING IN GEORGIA, ARMENIAN PRIME MINISTER SAID

PanARMENIAN.Net - YEREVAN, March 28. /Mediamax/. Questions, troubling Armenian residents of Samtskhe-Javaheti region, bear socio-economic character and their settlement is the domestic problem of Georgia.

As Mediamax was informed in the press service of the Government of Armenia, Prime Minister of Armenia Andranik Margarian stated this today at a meeting with Georgian Foreign Minister Irakly Menagarishvili, who arrived today in Yerevan for a visit.

At the same time, Armenian premier said, Armenia cannot be indifferent to the fate of both its Diaspora and the Armenian population of Georgia and is ready to do all it can to take part in the settlement of the problems troubling them.

During the meeting the sides noted the willingness of the Armenian and Georgian people and two states to develop friendly Armenian-Georgian relations. Considering the membership of Armenia and Georgia in the Council of Europe, the necessity of close cooperation of the two countries in the international arena, as well as deepening of bilateral direct ties and realization of joint regional programs were stressed.

Premier Margarian and I. Menagarishvili specified the range of questions to be discussed at the meeting of the Armenian-Georgian inter-governmental commission for economic cooperation, which will take place in Yerevan in the second half of April. --0--
