ARMENIAN GOVERNMENT AND MIGRATION INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION SIGN A MEMORANDUM OF MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING

The permanent representative of Armenia in the UN Geneva Office and other international organizations, Karen Nazarian, and the General director of the Migration International Organization (MIO) Bronson McKinley signed a Memorandum of mutual understanding between the Armenian Government and MIO, Mediamax was informed in the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia.

The signing of the Memorandum is the result of the visit of the General director of MIO to Armenia, in the course of which a number of questions and programs connected with cooperation in the sphere of migration were discussed with the Armenian side. The Memorandum is called to assist the realization of these programs.

The sides will cooperate in the sphere of prevention of disorderly migration, voluntarily return of emigrants and their reintegration. The parties agreed upon the working out of a post-conflict MIO program in the implication of Karabakh process peace settlement.

In accord with the points of the Memorandum, MIO will broaden its activity in Armenia, in particular, in the sphere of assistance to the network of small business. Special attention will be paid to the information exchange in the migration sphere. -0-
