Vic Darchinyan: Ward has chosen perfect tactics in bout with Abraham to win

PanARMENIAN.Net - Commenting on the defeat of Arthur Abraham in the Super Six World Boxing Classic semifinals match with Andre Ward, IBO bantamweight champion Vic Darchinyan said Abraham tried to knock out Ward, but the American boxer is very strong.

Ward has chosen perfect tactics in the bout to win, while Abraham tried to do something, but did not succeed, Darchinyan told a press conference in Yerevan. “Hopefully, we will see strong Abraham and he will display his best abilities in future,” he said.

According to Darchinyan’s trainer Vazgen Badalyan, currently Ward is the strongest boxer in the super middleweight division. “Ward dictated his rules of game in the bout, keeping Abraham at a distance. Abraham should have struggled in each round and for each strike. He likes to be active in the end of the bout. But such style is disliked in the U.S. American boxers prefer to fight throughout the match,” concluded Badalyan.
