Armenia’s Byurakan observatory is engaged in a Russian space debris research project.
As observatory director Hayk Harutyunyan told a new conference on June 3, in August, the Armenian Academy of Sciences and Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) will sign an agreement on modernization of Byrakan observatory telescopes.
“About euro 2mln will be allocated for the purpose,” he said. “Besides, Russia will remunerate the observatory employees involved in the project.”
New telescope are expected to be delivered in Armenia in August.
