PLAN ON TERRITORIAL SWAP WAS REJECTED BY ARMENIAN SIDE, SPEAKER OF ARMENIAN PARLIAMENT SAIS

"The plan on territorial swap with Azerbaijan was among the discussed versions on the Karabakh conflict settlement which was rejected by the Armenian side for it is unacceptable for our people." This statement was made by Armen Khachatrian, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, in an interview to the journalist of the American "Boston Globe" Miles Pamper. The full text of the interview was published today in "Hayastani Hanrapetoutyun" parliamentary daily.

According to the Speaker Armenia is inclined to resume the discussion of the latest proposal of mediators with the concept of "common state".

Armen Khachatrian also said that along with resolution of the conflict the sides have to solve a number of psychological, economic and social tasks. "The fact of blockade of Armenia by Turkey and Azerbaijan makes an obstacle on the way of final solution of the problem," Speaker of the Armenian parliament said. --0--
