Alik Gharibyan did not rule out that the West will even make an attempt to divide Iran. “Some analyst presume that Armenia may get Nagorno Karabakh while Azerbaijan will be given South Azerbaijan in exchange. Besides, a part of Turkish Trabzon port might be leased to Armenia,” he told journalists in Yerevan. The Kurdish card will be the next to be played, according to Gharibyan. “Iran is interested in maintenance of status quo in Karabakh conflict zone so that the territories under NKR control can’t be used as a platform for attacking Iran,” he said. For his part, expert Mher Baghdasaryan noted that the tension in relations between Azerbaijan and Iran is conditioned by Baku’s cooperation with the West against Iran. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult.
