THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF CIS STATES EDUCATION MINISTERS HAS BEGUN TODAY IN YEREVAN

PanARMENIAN.Net - 10.10.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The second meeting of the Council of the Ministers of education and science of CIS states has begun today in Yerevan. Educational programs for 2000-2001 and steps, aimed to improve the level of school education in CIS states will be the main topics at the meeting.

Besides, documents on establishing a fund for assisting the cooperation in the educational system in CIS will be considered at the meeting in Yerevan. Approaches to apply the system of "extension learning" in CIS will be specified, the scheme of the intergovernmental program to create a common educational space in the Commonwealth of Independent States will be approved as well.

It is expected that Prime Minister Andranik Margarian will receive the participants of the meeting. -0-
