Armenian customs officers prevent gold smuggling attempt

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian customs officers prevented gold smuggling at Yerevan’s Zvartnots Airport.

Armenian citizen Hovnan Harutyunyan, who arrived from Moscow, attempted to smuggle undeclared 250g of gold in 62 pieces.

As reported by the press service of the State Revenue Committee, investigation is under way.

The report also says that the struggle against customs violations grew more efficient after signing a relevant protocol on collaboration in 2011 between law enforcing subdivisions of customs services of Armenia and Russia.
