MEETING OF ARMENIAN AND AZERBAIJANI RELIGIOUS LEADERS WILL TAKE PLACE IN MOSCOW

PanARMENIAN.Net - 13.09.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. On the invitation of the Head of the Russian Apostolic Church, the meeting of the Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II and the religious leader of Azerbaijan, Sheikh Ul-islam Allahshukyur Pasha-zadeh will take place in Moscow in the near future.

The head of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Garegin the Second informed this today at the meeting with the European Parliament member, the representative of the South Caucasus-European Union cooperation commission, Ursula Schleiher, was reported to MEDIAMAX in the press office of St. Echmiadzin.

Speaking of the church's role in establishing stability in the region, Garegin II said that he, as the Catholicos of All Armenians, strives to support the restoration of peace.

When speaking about the present religious organizations, acting on the Armenian territory, the head of the Armenian church noted with pity that many of them "violate the moral principles of the country". -0-
