Armenian parliament speaker resigns to head election headquarters

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamyan will resign his position to head electoral headquarters of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA).

As Abrahamyan told journalists after RPA council sitting, after the Party’s suggesting him to head electoral headquarters, he resolved to give up the speaker’s post to more effectively conduct the campaign.

According to Abrahamyan, no other issue was on the sitting agenda, neither was resignation of Vice Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan, with Gagik Beglaryan to replace him on his post discussed.

When asked if the development described above is possible, Abrahamyan noted with a smile, “nothing can be excluded.”
