EU RADICALLY CHANGED ITS PERCEPTION OF ARMENIA, VARDAN OSKANIAN CONSIDERS

PanARMENIAN.Net - The European Union has come to perceive Armenia in a completely different way, Armenian FM Vardan Oskanian stated when commenting on the meeting of RA President Robert Kocharian with the EU leadership held in Brussels December 4-5. In his words, since the last visit of the high rank delegation in 2001, "the EU has considerably changed its perception of Armenia", Mediamax agency reports. Though the EU is aspired to develop relations with all the South Caucasian countries, "special attitude toward Armenia was obvious during the latest visit", the minister noted. V. Oskanian drew attention to the meeting of R. Kocharian with EU commissioner responsible for enlargement Gunter Verheugen, who stated about the EU intention to present the European prospects to the South Caucasian countries and about his own intention to visit the region on this occasion within the first quarter of 2004.
