At the meeting, the Mufti stressed close historic ties between the two countries, noting Syria's Armenians as loyal citizens. Dwelling on Karabakh settlement, the Mufti named the expression of people's will, rather than religion as the reason behind the conflict. A meeting with Aleppo Governor Mowafak Ibrahim Khallouf was also on Consul General's visit agenda, Armenian Foreign Ministry press service reported. ![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit.
