  Grand Mufti of Syria: people's will, not religion behind Karabakh conflict December 12, 2011 - 18:34 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia's Consul General Karen Grigoryan met with Grand Mufti of Syria Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun. At the meeting, the Mufti stressed close historic ties between the two countries, noting Syria's Armenians as loyal citizens. Dwelling on Karabakh settlement, the Mufti named the expression of people's will, rather than religion as the reason behind the conflict. A meeting with Aleppo Governor Mowafak Ibrahim Khallouf was also on Consul General's visit agenda, Armenian Foreign Ministry press service reported.
