CELEBRATION OF 1600-TH ANNIVERSARY OF ARMENIAN SCHOOL PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN UNESCO PROGRAM OF MEASURES

PanARMENIAN.Net - Celebration of the 1600-th anniversary of Armenian school is proposed to be included in UNESCO program of measures for 2004-2005. This was initiated by rector of Artsakh State University Hamlet Grigorian, when addressing the 3-rd congress of the UNESCO General Assembly, "Arminfo" agency reported. At that he emphasized, that the education system of Nagorno Karabakh much damaged as a result of hostilities. At the same time H. Grigorian called the attention of the forum participants to the need of contribution to the growing up generation of unrecognized states, which, in his words, was taken with understanding. "Economically powerful states make much investment in the education systems of developing countries, however, children of Nagorno Karabakh and other unrecognized formations in the post-Soviet space are forgotten. Science and education should not be politicized," H. Grigorian emphasized.
