Baku concerned over France’s OSCE co-chairmanship

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan is seriously concerned over France’s ‘unusual’ stance on the Armenian Genocide issue, an Azerbaijani MP said.

According to Aydin Mirzezada, much depends on today’s debate and voting on the bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial. “Azerbaijan is likely to question France’s co-chairmanship in OSCE Minsk Group if the French Senate passes the bill,” she said, quoted by 1news.az.

On January 18, Constitutional Commission of the French Senate passed a decision against the bill criminalizing Armenian Genocide denial, accepting Senators’ solicitation that oppose the aforesaid legislation.

The French Senate is set to debate the bill penalizing the Armenian Genocide denial today, Jan 23, 6pm Yerevan time.
