French MP calls for countering denial policy

PanARMENIAN.Net - During the debate of the bill penalizing Genocide denial French MP Patrick Ollier stressed the need for Senators to acknowledge that Genocide motion is not a historical bill.

“We should counter the denial policy. We are not here to settle historical issues but to create harmony among Senators. By passing the bill we may compensate the loss of an entire nation,” Ollier said.

Dwelling on freedom of speech, the MP noted that “ there can no freedom without commitment.”
