RUSSIAN FRONTIER GUARDS DETAINED 80 TRESPASSERS OF ARMENIA'S STATE BORDER IN 2003January 27, 2004 - 20:59 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Russian frontier guards detained 80 trespassers of the Armenian state border in 2003, head of the frontier administration of the Russian Federal Security Service in Armenia, major-general Sergey Bondarev told journalists. In his words, 56 violators of the frontier regime were detained, 25 units of cold steel confiscated and contraband goods amounting in $9 500 delivered to the customs officers during the same period. Bondarev also reported that totally 250 000 people, over 160 of them being foreigners passed the Armenian border in 2003.
