Armenian elite singers’ “star” payment postponed, paper says

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian elite singers are mourning.

Following the French Senate’s adoption of the bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial, series of concerts were expected to be held in Yerevan in honor of the French President Nicolas Sarkozy. However, the Constitutional Council’s ruling the bill as unconstitutional resulted in cancellation of the concerts, Zhoghovurd paper reports.

“Sorry that it so happened. Anyway, we're not to blame,” the event organizers told the singers, adding they can get the so-called “star” payment during the pre-election concerts of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA).
