TURKEY CAN BECOME EU MEMBER NOT EARLIER THAN IN 2016, EU COMMISSIONER SUPPOSES

PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkey can become EU member not earlier than in 2016, European Union Commissioner for the Internal Market Frits Bolkestein supposes. As reported by Assembly of Armenians of Europe, speaking in the Dutch parliament March 18, Bolkestein stated that "if he were allowed to fantasize a little bit", accession negotiations with Ankara could be started only in 2006. The Turks could then enter the EU around ten years later, the EU Commissioner noted.
