KARABAKH CONFLICT SETTLEMENT CAN BE BASED ON COMPROMISES ONLY

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia has many times stated that Karabakh conflict can be settled only by means of negotiations, on the basis of compromises", Secretary of the Security Council under the Armenian President, Defense Minister Serge Sargsian stated during the meeting with the Interparliamentary Union British Group headed by member of the House of Commons Gordon Marsden. As press secretary of the Minister Seyran Shahsuvarian reported, when touching upon the militaristic statements Baku from time to time addresses to Yerevan Serge Sargsian expressed hope that "reason will triumph in Azerbaijan, as a new war in the region is pregnant with irreversible and grave consequences". As for the anti-Armenian propaganda spread by Baku, Armenian Defense Minister stated, "We do not consider it expedient to involve our people and other countries in the propagandistic war against Azerbaijan, as during the recent 7 years we have been negotiating with Baku". In the course of the discussion of the Armenian-British military cooperation Serge Sargsian said he is sure that the cooperation between the two states will develop and deepen. To note, the parties also viewed the issues of regional security and struggle against terrorism.
