KUBAN COSSACKS TAKE PART IN PROCESSION TO MEMORIAL TO ARMENIAN GENOCIDE VICTIMS

PanARMENIAN.Net - April 22 the delegation of Cossacks of Korenov region of Krasnodar Territory arrived in Yerevan to take part in the procession heading for the Memorial to Victims of the Armenian Genocide. The delegation is headed by ataman of Kuban Cossack Society of Korenov region of the Territory Mikhail Timchenko. The Cossacks of Korenov region of Kuban have long-standing friendly relations with the local Armenian community, as the 409-th Armenian riffle division liberated Sergiyevskaya Stanitsa of Korenov region from fascist invaders. Annually marking the day of liberation of their Stanitsa residents of Sergiyevskaya lay flowers to the monument to major S. Ayvazian and soldiers of the Armenian division, who died in battles for the Stanitsa. The monument was erected on the initiative of Korenov Cossacks and their ataman.
