ATOM EGOYAN'S "ARARAT" FILM BEST CANADIAN FILM IN 2002

PanARMENIAN.Net - Director Atom Egoyan's "Ararat" film, which tells about the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey in 1915-1923, was honored as the best Canadian film of 2002. Moreover, "Ararat" got another four awards at the "Genie" awards ceremony held in Toronto the other day. These are best actress, best supporting actor, best original score and best costume design. When accepting the award, best actress winner Arsinee Khanjian noted, "With my work on 'Ararat,' I wanted to honor the spirit of my ancestors," - and finished her speech in Armenian.
