LAW ON ALTERNATIVE MILITARY SERVICE PLANNED TO BE PASSED IN ARMENIA THIS YEAR

PanARMENIAN.Net - The bill on alternative military service in Armenia is ready and to all appearance will already be passed in 2003. Armenian minister of defense, secretary of the Security Council under the Armenian president Serge Sargsian said in an interview to "Russian Newspaper." In his words, the number of those not wishing to serve in the Armenian army is not so large today. Thus, passing a law on alternative service will hardly cause problems in staffing the army, the minister noted.
