MIGRATION BALANCE POSITIVE IN ARMENIA LAST YEAR

PanARMENIAN.Net - The migration balance was positive in Armenia in 2002. In the words of the chief of the Migration and Refugee Department under the Armenian government Gagik Yeganian, 595078 people arrived in Armenia and 594442 left it. "For the first time since 1992 positive balance is registered in the country," - G.Yeganian noted. In his opinion, such an indicator was achieved owing to the relative improvement of conditions in the republic, restoration of the Armenian economy. G.Yeganian reported that the migration balance had still been negative in 2001.
