Action in Support of Ambassador Evans Held in Yerevan

PanARMENIAN.Net - U.S. citizens in Armenia held an action in support of U.S. Ambassador to the RA John Evans, who according to some data was recalled from Yerevan. The action participants handed round yellow ribbons which symbolize trust and sincerity in American culture. According to one of the initiators Eduard Balasanyan, the U.S. government and State Department should not take part in "diplomatic games". "The matter concerns not the diplomat but the position of the State Department and the U.S. government that do not recognize the Armenian Genocide. Ambassador Evans refrained from comments. "God sides with justice" he remarked, reported the Public Television of Armenia.



To remind, February 19, 2005 at a meeting with Armenian grassroots of California when commenting on the importance of the Genocide recognition Amb. Evans said, "Today I will call it the Armenian Genocide."
