Armenian Genocide Recognition not Armenia's but Turkey's Problem

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian Genocide recognition problem is the issue of Turkey's dignity, Armenian National Assembly Vice-speaker Tigran Torosian stated. In his words, this is not Armenia's but Turkey's problem. "Turkey may not recognize the Genocide. But the mankind should understand that this was a crime against the whole humanity and the Genocide recognition will be the tribute of respect not only to the Armenian people but also to the whole humanity and common values," Tigran Torosian said.

At the same time he stressed that Armenia is ready to normalize relations with Turkey and always looked for common ground for cooperation. "The normalization of relations will not depend on Turkey's accession or non-accession to the European Union. We should think of European integration irrespectively of Turkey's EU membership," the Vice-speaker said, reported Novosti-Armenia.
