WASHINGTON BLAMING ANKARA FOR ORGANIZATION OF ATTEMPT ON KURD GOVERNOR IN IRAQ

PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan demanded from the US military men to discharge the Turkish special detachment soldiers who had been arrested in the northern part of Iraq on Friday on suspicion of organization of the attempt on the Kurd governor of the town of Kirkuk. As Russian press informs, up to yesterday evening the incident was not settled. Moreover, in the opinion of many observers, it is fraught with the further deterioration of relations between Ankara and Washington that have been already exploded by the war in the Persian Gulf. Turkish MFA head's visit to the US in the course of which the parties had to eliminate the contradictions available, is likely to be on the verge of breakdown. As reported by the Turkish television, among the reciprocal measures towards the US Ankara is viewing the opportunity of closing the Turkish air space for the American planes. According to "Reyter" agency, there is about a thousand of Turkish soldiers providing security of the frontier between the two countries in the North of Iraq. As it is known, Ankara fears closing of the Turkish and Iraqi Kurds with the aim of creating the independent Kurd state. Washington officially calls Ankara to withdraw the troops.
