ARMENIAN PRESIDENT'S OFFICIAL VISIT TO KYRGYZSTAN STARTEDApril 5, 2002 - 00:21 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Today Armenian President Robert Kocharian and the members of the delegation led by him left Dushanbe for Bishkek. The meeting of Robert Kocharian with the President of Kyrgyzstan Askar Akayev is the first on the agenda of the visit. The meeting will be followed by the talks. The signing of a number of documents including the pact of friendship and cooperation is expected. Robert Kocharian and Askar Akayev will hold joint press conference. In the course of the visit, the President of Armenia will meet Kyrgyz premier and the chairs of the two houses of the Kyrgyz parliament. The Armenian President will meet with the representatives of the Armenian Diaspora. It is expected that in the course of the two-day official visit special attention will be paid to the issues regarding the economic cooperation. The perspectives of the partnership within the framework of the Pact on collective security will be discussed. The first meeting of the Armenian-Kyrgyz intergovernmental commission on cooperation will take place these days in Bishkek.
