45 KILLED IN EARTHQUAKE IN TURKEY

PanARMENIAN.Net - The number of victims of the earthquake, which took place in Turkey Sunday, has amounted to 45 persons. According to Reuters, over 170 were injured. The earthquake of six points by Richter scale took place in the western part of Turkey February 3 in the morning. Some 100 buildings are demolished, hundreds of people remained without shelter. Rescue works on the tragedy scene were stopped in 12 hours after the earthquake took place. "We have ascertained that there are no people alive under the building wreckage," - Vice-Governor of Afyon province Halil Ibrahim Turkoghlu told Anatolian information agency. This is the third big earthquake in Turkey in the course of the recent years. Let us remind that over 18 thousand died and hundreds of thousand buildings were destroyed resulting from the two earthquakes, which took place in the northwest of the country in 1999.
