CATHOLICOS GAREGIN II EXPRESSER HIS READINESS TO CONTINUE DIALOG OF RELIGIOUS LEADERS OF ARMENIA, RUSSIA AND AZERBAIJAN

PanARMENIAN.Net - Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II expressed his readiness to continue dialog of the religious leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia for the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. As «Arminfo» agency informs, Patriarch Aleksy II stated this at the meeting of the members of the presidium of All-Russian Azerbaijani congress yesterday.

Aleksy II highly appreciated the peacemaking activities of the religious department of the Caucasian Muslims Sheykh-ul-islam Allahshukyur Pashazade, particularly, regarding the Nagorno Karabakh problem settlement. «Wise and important position of Azerbaijani religious leader helped not to let the political opposition become a religious conflict», said Patriarch. The Patriarch strongly criticized the attempts of some politicians to interpret recent terrorist acts in the US as a beginning of a global opposition of Christianity and Islam.
