PACE WILL DISCUSS THE KARABAKH PROBLEM

PanARMENIAN.Net - Two political documents were passed and spread by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe due to the Azerbaijani delegation initiative at the autumn session held in Strasbourg. As reported by "CNA" agency, the first document signed by 23 deputies concerns the issue of Azerbaijani refugees' children's right to education. It notes Azerbaijani schools, infant institutions, colleges were demolished due to the war. Worrying about the situation in education sphere and the problems schoolchildren encountered, the Parliamentary Assembly addressed the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe a request to consider this subject. The other document signed by 51 PACE deputies suggests to discuss the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict at one of the four forthcoming sessions. It stresses that during the six-month period of membership of Armenia and Azerbaijan in CE this problem was not officially discussed either by Committee of Ministers or the Assembly. Taking into consideration the fact that the Karabakh problem can exacerbate the situation in the entire region, PACE charged its Political Committee to discuss this subject and then make a corresponding report to the Assembly.
