Gagik Melikyan: Aliyev should know that distortion of history will have boomerang effect

PanARMENIAN.Net - The visit of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to the South Caucasus was important for the region, member of the Republican Party of Armenia said.

“Azerbaijan was displeased with Hillary Clinton’s statements which went contrary to Baku’s interests,” MP Gagik Melikyan told journalists in Yerevan on July 7.

“In response, Aliyev again resorted to misinterpretation of history during the opening ceremony of ‘headquarters of Azeri community of Nagorno Karabakh’. Aliyev seems not to understand that distortion of history will have a boomerang effect,” he said.

Melikyan also attached importance to Secretary Clinton’s visit to the Armenian Genocide Memorial, what can promote the proves of Genocide recognition by the U.S.
