ARMENIAN AND TURKISH FOREIGN MINISTERS DISCUSSED REGIONAL ISSUES

PanARMENIAN.Net - The foreign ministry of Armenia has reported some of the details of the meeting of foreign ministers of Armenia and Turkey Vardan Oskanian and Abdullah Gul held in Madrid June 3. According to the ministry press service, it was the first meeting of the ministers after the formation of the new Turkish government and it mainly aimed at familiarization. In the course of the conversation the ministers discussed a number of regional issues, including the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The parties also noted the importance of improving the relations between the two countries, which will have a positive impact on the establishment of stability and security in the region. The ministers also agreed to continue the dialogue. It should be noted that the head of the foreign policy department of Armenia was in Madrid June 3-5 to participate in a recurrent meeting of foreign ministers of the Council of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership countries.
