Ruben Mehrabyan: oncoming meeting of Turkish, Iranian and Azeri Foreign Ministers serves as a message to Armenia, as well as the west

PanARMENIAN.Net - Oncoming meeting of Turkish, Iranian and Azeri Foreign Ministers aims to direct a message to Armenia, as well as the west. The meeting is to signal that Yerevan is not wanted in the region; west is given to understand Turkey and Azerbaijan’s interests are to be reckoned with, according to Ruben Mehrabyan, an expert at the Armenian Center for Political and International Studies.

“The signal should be disturbing to Russia. The latter has a negative attitude to Turkish-Iranian cooperation, which, she believes, is progressing at the expense of Russia’s interests,” the expert told PanARMENIAN.Net

As Mehrabyan noted, Iran will benefit from the oncoming meeting, wishing to run a blockade the country found itself in as a result of sanctions imposed.

“The meeting itself is more important than its results,” the Armenian expert said in conclusion.
