AES COMPANY WANTS TERMS OF TENDER CHANGED, LEADER OF ARMENIAN DEMOCRATS SAYS

"On behalf" of the American AES Silk Road company, the World Bank representatives are conducting negotiations with governmental circles of Armenia to change the terms of the tender on privatization of distributive power networks, the Leader of Democratic Party said today at a press conference in Yerevan.

Quoting reliable sources he said that the negotiations regarded not only the purchase of the energy networks but of the energy generating entities as well, and also its export to foreign markets. According to Sarkisian, claiming to purchase of the Yerevan and North energy networks, the AES company suggests to change the volume of the margin.

The press secretary of the WB Yerevan office, Vigen Sarkisian said today to Mediamax that "the statements of Sarkisian are groundless".

The results of tender on privatization of 4 distributive power networks of Armenia will be announced on April 22, and the agreement on sale-purchase of the shares must be signed till April 29. After the refusal of the French Electricite de France and the Swiss-Swedish ABB, only two companies remain - the American AES Silk Road and the Spanish Union Fenosa. --0--
