SECOND FORUM "ARMENIA-DIASPORA" TO BE HELD IN YEREVAN ON SEPTEMBER 19-20

PanARMENIAN.Net - YEREVAN, March 29. /Mediamax/. Yerevan will host the second forum "Armenia-Diaspora" on September 19-20, says the statement, issued today by the commission for forum preparation.

The statement said that organization of second forum "Armenian-Diaspora" acquires special meaning, being held in the year of celebration of the 10th anniversary of Armenia's independence and 1700th anniversary of adoption of Christianity in Armenia as state religion.

In the nearest future diplomatic representations of Armenia abroad will initiate preparatory consultations with representatives of Armenian communities to discuss issues on preparation of the second "Armenia-Diaspora" forum.

The first forum, which was held in Yerevan in 1999, became an important event in the relations of Armenia and Diaspora, stressed the statement. "It marked the beginning of the process of development and consolidation of multilateral cooperation between Armenia and Diaspora, regular mutual discussion of national tasks and priorities", the statement said.
