THE U.S. IS CONCERNED BY HUMAN RIGHTS PROBLEM IN AZERBAIJAN

U.S. Ambassador David Johnson to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) said that the United States remains concerned by the Government of Azerbaijan's human rights record as reflected in most recent human rights report of the United States Mission to the OSCE.

Speaking at the OSCE Permanent Council, the American diplomat said that as a new member of the Council of Europe, a great deal of work lies ahead in bringing Azerbaijan's legislation into conformity with that organization's standards. --0--
