GREEK OTE ANNOUNCED 32.2 % DECREASE OF ITS NET PROFITS IN ARMENIA IN 2000

PanARMENIAN.Net - YEREVAN, March 20. /Mediamax/. Greek Telecommunications Group (OTE) announced that its net profits in Armenia fell by 32.2% in 2000.

OTE owns 90 per cent of shares of Armentel Company - the monopolist in the telecommunications sphere of Armenia. At the same time OTE's report, published in Tech Europe, says that Armentel's turnover in Armenia rose 11.5% in 2000.

OTE is 49% privately owned, and is in privatization process at present. OTE bought 90% of Armenian Armentel and 20% of Serbian Telecom Srbija in 1997, and 5% of Romanian "Romtelecom" Company in 1998. --0--
