FIRST MEETING OF BUSINESS ASSISTING COUNCIL HELD TODAY IN YEREVAN

PanARMENIAN.Net - 06.02.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The first meeting of the Business assisting council took place today in Yerevan under the chairmanship of Prime Minister of Armenia Andranik Margarian.

As Mediamax was informed in the press service of the government, the Premier voiced his hope that the cooperation of the authorities and businessmen will be successful and productive. He noted that the active work of the Council would be one of important components of working out and realization of governmental anti-corruption program.

Businessmen, represented in the Council, especially stressed the importance of legislative stability, noting that frequent changes in the laws negatively affect the business.

The next meeting of the Council, to be held on March 2, will be dedicated to investment policy.

As Mediamax was informed in the press service of the government, the work of the Business assisting Council, set up on the initiative of the Prime Minister of Armenia, is mainly aimed at "stimulating investments and eliminating administrative obstacles for business development".

The chief counselor of the President for economic issues, Minister for Finance and Economy, Minister of Industry and Trade, Mayor of Yerevan, executive director of "Armenian Development Agency" CJSC and 6 representatives of business circles of Armenia are included in the composition of the Council. --0--
