ARMENIAN PARLIAMENT DISCUSSES AMENDMENTS TO TV AND RADIO LAW

PanARMENIAN.Net - 06.02.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Today the National Assembly of Armenia considers at the plenary session government's proposal to make amendments to TV and Radio Law.

Head of information and book-publishing department at the government of Armenia Edward Militonian proposed to reduce the number of the National commission for TV and radio broadcast from 9 to 5, which will allow to reduce budget expenses and to organize the commission's work effectively.

Head of the parliamentary commission for science and education issues Shavarsh Kocharian insists on keeping 9 members of the National commission. According to him, this commission will not censor the broadcasting, but distribute the frequencies and realize control over the fulfillment of law demands. --0--
